With Version 9 we have incorporated innumerable
feature enhancements requested directly by our customers.
Some of these are detailed below. The major revisions include:
Automated Updates
to Any Web Site - Version 9 can now update virtually any
gallery or artist web site at the touch of a button.
These updates include all titles, artists, events and
company information. With this service we can virtually
eliminate
the need for you to hire a web site developer to keep
your web site current.
Customization - Many
fields in Version 9 can now be customized to meet the requirements
of your unique business.
Credit Card /
Gift Card Processing - You can now process credit card directly through
Version 9. You have no further need for third party credit
card processing equipment. You can plug your card swiper
directly into your computer with Version 9.
Memberships - You can
now create, manage and market to membership groups for
your gallery.
Flexible Tax Tables - With
unlimited tax rates Version 9 now can accommodate the most
complicated tax codes.
Unlimited and
Searchable Description Fields - You can now enter complete descriptions
of your art, artist, company and events in Version 9.

Our design objective was to improve upon
the best aspects of the older versions of Masterpiece
Gallery Manager software. We did NOT want to change the look
and
feel of the software. Had we done this our existing customers
would have been forced to learn a completely new system.
Wherever possible, we have kept the program and the navigation
nearly identical .Think of Version 9 as a Bigger and Better
version of the same great software that has made Masterpiece
Gallery Manager the world's leading gallery software for
more than a decade.
As we have done since the founding of our
company, Masterpiece Solutions will continue to invest heavily
to relentlessly improve upon the market leader functionality
of Version 9. These investments will focus upon enhancements
to existing capabilities, preventative security measures,
incremental feature upgrades requested by our customers
and the marketplace. By subscribing to our Software

ADDITIONAL NOTE FIELDS and LONGER
FIELDS
Additional Notes fields
on the Contact Screen allow you to enter any
type of information you require.
For each new field, you can set up lists of common words of phrases.
Of course, you can rename the fields.
We have also extended the following fields to make the longer (the
number in brackets is the new length of the field:
title (20) firstname (30) lastname (60) company (120) spouse (120)
email (120)
Note: With this change, you can now
enter multiple email addresses for a contact.
Just separate each one with a semicolon!

ITEM IMAGE ADDED
TO FIND ITEM SCREEN
Because this version supports larger screens,
we now have space on the form to add an image to the Find
Item screen,
as well as additional fields that can be displayed within the grid.

MORE FIELDS AND
IMAGES ON THE ITEM PAGE
Like on the contact screen, we have added
three custom fields for you to use on the Item screen.
You can set the labels for the new fields to be anything you like.
We have also added support for additional images.

MEMBERSHIPS
The system now supports memberships, and
has several new reports relating to members.

CHOOSE SCREEN
TO BEGIN TRANSACTION
To accommodate the new membership features,
the system now allows you to begin a new sale on the client
screen instead of the item screen. This means that once you
enter a member name, the system can
automatically discount any items that the member purchases. This is
also useful for any "regular" clients, wholesale buyers,
dealers, and designers that may receive a discount on each sale.

UNLIMTED TAX RATES
For galleries and artists that have to
track lots and lots of different taxing details, the system
will now allow an unlimited number of different tax rate
details.

NEW CREDIT CARD
PROCESSOR AND GIFT CARDS
The new version continues to support both
ICVerify and X-Charge. However, we have also added support
for Merchant Warehouse credit card processing, and Smart-Transaction
Gift Cards.

FILTER
FIND SCREENS FOR CONTACTS, TRANSACTIONS, TITLES, ITEMS
When you do a FIND and set up a filter,
the system can remember that filter as you scan through the
items, contacts, or transactions. For example, you do a FIND
for all of the bronzes in the gallery - and double-click
to open the first bronze item. If filtering is turned on,
then when you click the next button, the system will go to
the next bronze, not simply the next item in the inventory.

The length of the title of a piece has
been extended from 60 characters to 120.

BIRTH/DEATH
DATE FIELDS ADDED TO CONTACT FORM
New fields have been added to help you
track birthdays for clients, or life dates for artists.

SCREENS
Almost all of the forms have been made
re sizable in order to accommodate larger monitors. In many
cases, the larger screens also support the display of additional
fields.

ALLOW
EMPTY EDITION SEPARATOR ON SETTINGS & TRANSACTIONS
For those of you that use separators in
your scan codes (i.e. ABC-123.xx2) the system now allows
you to turn the auto feature off. Previously, you could not
put both a dash ( - ) and a slash ( / ) in the scan code
field. Now you can!

ON
CONTACT, ADD *** TO NOT CHANGE CASE
The system has an automatic feature to
convert information to upper and lower case. But some times
you may want to force the system to use a particular case.
For example, suppose you want to enter a company name like " designed
for ME " (that is, without capitalizing the first word. You
can now enter "designed for ME***" and Masterpiece will leave
the case as it is, and strip off the *** for you.

PRICE
CARDS ABLE TO PRINT ARTIST'S CITY AND STATE
Several galleries have requested the ability
to print and artist's city/state on the price/wall cards.

OUTSTANDING
LAYAWAY AMOUNTS SHOWN AT STARTUP
The system now has the ability to bring
up a listing of all clients with payments that is due. From
here, you can export the data to several different formats.

UPDATE
PRICES BY % -BY ARTIST OR LOCATION
New form is provided on the tools menu
to update prices (up or down) by a percentage - by artist
or location .i.e. increase all items for Russell Chisolm
in location stock by 5%.

ON
CONTACT SCREEN YOU CAN NOW ASSIGN A CONTACT TO A LOCATION
For businesses with multiple stores, you
can now manually assign a contact to a store. The system
will continue to also attempt to automatically assign a contact
to a store.

Some work was done on Object Permissions
that should make the delete buttons on transactions, and tabs
on forms, able to be set with permissions. The process of actually
setting the permissions should be smoother also.
