Find ITEM in Transaction
When doing a sale, you can now search for an ITEM instead of a
TITLE. This lets you see the individual pieces, with prices, instead
of looking for a generic title and then selecting the item as
a second step. You can still continue to find TITLES if you
prefer that method.
FTP progress bar
MANY of our clients are using the (currently) free feature that
lets you backup your data offsite to our server in Dallas. In
this update, we have installed a progress bar to indicate how
long it will take to upload the file.
Vendor Discounts in the Transaction screen
If you would like to have the system figure out vendor discounts
based on the original consignment amount, rather than a sales
discount percentage, you can now double-click on the VendDisc
field on the transaction. A new form will open that will allow
you to figure the discount several different ways. Of course,
you can still use the normal discount percent.
Summary of Inventory Order
If you print a summary of inventory by location, you can now set
the suborder to medium (itemtype).
Sales Return Template
When printing a sales return for a client, you can now create
a new template (rather than just using the "receipt"
template, with a different layout, or different terms and conditions..
Web Transactions
If you are using a Masterpiece web site with a shopping cart,
the system can now retrieve transaction information from your
web site and create a transaction out of it directly in Masterpiece.
Delete Old Records
In preparation for the new year, we have included a new function
to remove old clients, sales, and inventory.
Transaction Screen
The check box for "Show Item Lookup Form" will now "remember"
if you checked it on or off so that you don't have to check it
each time.
Print ScanCode
When printing ScanCode labels for specific pieces, you can now
have the labels print in order by Title as well as in order by
ScanCode.

Sales Discounts
Many gallery owners don't want the discount columns to display
on the transaction screen because they feel that sales people
are more likely to offer a discount. These galleries have used
the Company Settings screen to turn the discount feature off.
In this update, we have added an override to temporarily allow
a manager to do a discount without having to change the company
settings.
Inches to Feet (And back again)
Several clients have requested that they system be able to display
Feet and Inches, rather than just total inches, when printing
reports. We have added this function, as well as the ability to
enter Feet and Inches and have the system convert them to total
inches.
The automatic conversion from English to Metric, and vice versa,
is also still in the system.
Find Contact
When using the find contact form to find an Artist or Vendor,
the system will now filter the list to only include Artists or
Vendors. Of course, you still have the option of viewing the entire
contact list if you want to.

Transaction Delete
We find it hard to believe, but it has been pointed out to us
that some employees might do a transaction, then delete the
transaction and pocket the money. So we have added a "menu level"
called "Transaction Delete" that lets you set the minimum
user level that can delete a transaction. This means that
if you choose, you can tell the system that, say, only
administrators can do transaction deletes.
Access this new feature from File/Staff/Menu Levels.
It's sad that a check like this is even required!
Merge
The Merge feature is now available. You can merge data from
your home to the office, or between multiple galleries.
Off Site Backups
THE BEST BACKUPS IN THE INDUSTRY JUST GOT BETTER!
We STRONGLY recommend off site backups. For those of you who do
not take backups home, we have created an off site storage area
on our server. It's free.
Distribute exe file
If you regularly download these updates, you may want to use
the built in distribute function to transfer the new program
file to other computers on your network.
Change screen labels
There are more screen labels that can be changed now.
Hide vendor field with costs check box
Don't want your customers to see the vendor name? The vendor field
is now tied to the "show costs" check box on the item screen.
Repeat Item or Title record for similar entries
Adding lots of similar inventory? You can now repeat items and titles.
Arrow keys with calendar
When entering dates, you can now press T for today, Y for yesterday,
or + and - to add or subtract a day.
Source field for contact management
You can now track where a contact name came from using the source field.
Tracks email and web site address for contacts
You can now add the customer's email address from the transaction form,
and you can log an artist's web address from the contact form.

Layaway Report
The Layaways and Receivables report has been
set up to display (optionally) the items sold and the payments already
made relating to any outstanding layaway payments.
Export
The "Print to File" features have been set up
to export information directly to XLS (Excel), WKS, CSV and other
common file types.
Mailing List
The "Print Mailing List" features has been set
up to export information directly to XLS (Excel), WKS, CSV and other
common file types.
It has also been updated to display the clients'
Credits on File as well as all of the transaction numbers relating
to the client so that you can use this information in printed form.
